Updated April 2026

Hessentials is a small, independent publication. Our approach to your information mirrors our approach to everything else here — take less, keep less, treat what we hold with care.

This page explains what we collect, why, and how to ask us to remove it.

What we collect

If you subscribe, we collect your email address and use it to send the things you signed up for. Nothing else.

If you visit, we may collect basic, anonymized analytics — pages viewed, approximate region, device type — to understand what's resonating. None of it is tied to your identity.

If you write to us, we keep the message and your reply address long enough to answer you well.

What we don't do

We don't sell your information. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't run behavioral ads. We don't build a profile on you.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working and to gather the anonymized analytics described above. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time without breaking the site.

Affiliate links

The Shop section, and occasional links inside our essays, are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer can see that you arrived from Hessentials. We never see what you bought. The full picture lives on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we have on you, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you anything.

If you live in California, the EU, or the UK, the same rights are guaranteed by law — CCPA, GDPR, and UK GDPR. To exercise any of them, write to hello@hessentials.co and we will respond within thirty days.

Children

This site is not directed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If anything here changes meaningfully, we update this page and revise the date in the header. Material changes are flagged at the top of the page for thirty days.
